Hello, my name is Aleena Clavel. I am a mother to a four year old girl and a 6 year breast cancer survivor. In March of 2015, at 29 years old, I was diagnosed with stage 2b Invasive Ductal Carcinoma with two active lymph nodes. Upon diagnosis, I harvested and froze 6 mature eggs. I had a right breast mastectomy, 4 rounds of Adriamycin Cytoxan chemotherapy and 12 rounds of Taxol chemotherapy. I concluded with 25 radiation treatments. Currently, I am taking a hormone blocker called tamoxifen. I am so blessed to be able to share my story and I pray that my story brings awareness to the importance of advocating for oneself.
